Happy New Year! It's actually a few days past the start of the new year, but I'm willing to bet I haven't had the opportunity to say so to, well most of you out there.
The start of a new year. THIS will be quite a year. I'm well into this new chapter of my life and so far- thumbs up.
I decided through the month of December, 2010, that I would spend more time observing and less time making sense of my reflections. [I think I may have been real tired or something; cognitive function was snowed in.] And So I took a break from the blog. But I'm back now. It was a busy month that offered a lot of lessons and experiences. I won't share them all at once, don't worry.
To pick up where I left off in November, we ended up having a record breaking snow fall for the month of November with over 25 inches. And then following a real deep freeze the first week of Dec., the second week brought rain and cleared the streets up. I didn't mind the rain though; it meant I didn't have to shovel (my shoulder needed a break from shoveling). So with the winter wonderland I was finishing up the quarter with my Cell/Molecular biology course. Happy to report I pulled through with the final and landed an "A". I am glad to be done with that class. A great review of biology, but NOT my favorite class ever. Following finals I pulled a week of super part-time employee and opened the gym five day's in a row bumping my typical 13 hours a week to over 30. I totally love opening, but gees was I exhausted at the end of the week- a 3:45 alarm clock is early! And then I went back to Virginia for two weeks! It was great to have time to relax with my totally awesome family that I don't get to see enough. I returned to Spokane in time for the new year, another dumping of snow in Spokane, and a very full January to look forward to.
And so now it's January. And my routine of a life has returned. I've decided it's nice to have routine. After deviating far from my training in terms of nutrition and, although less so, workout's while away and not even opening a book in terms of MCAT review, it is really nice to feel back on track. Back on track with just three weeks until MCAT day. Am I ready? No. But I will be come test day. It's crunch time! And so we'll see what I've got. I'm excited. After all, MCAT was one of the primary reason I resigned from the full-time stressful employment and financially comfortable lifestyle... I look forward to taking the MCAT. I look forward to having the MCAT over with. And I look forward to what 2011 will bring. Bring it on...
