It's been a bit of a flatline for this blog lately. Although not always the reason, my blogging flatline has paralleled fairly deflated enthusiasm. Exhausted, stressed, psyched out, self-induced pressure, fatigue, overtrained, apathetic, irritable.... any of those may describe my attitude on any given day over the past month. ... Maybe the weather was a contributing factor, lots of cold rain. But mostly I reflect back on the fact that I seem to have overcommitted myself and/or failed to prioritize appropriately, feeling as if I was spiraling out of control.
Over the course of a few weeks, I reached a point of total breakdown. Last week was an ultimate low. I was skipping important workouts, putting in lots of "junk" miles, blowing off school work, not sleeping, eating a terrible diet, and just letting "stress" get in the way of achieving goals and being productive.
So thanks to having good people in my life. The last couple days have been a refreshed outlook, a reminder of the love I have for training and the excitement for making the most out of life. I'm having to rebuild structure and self-discipline that I previously exhibited... nothing is easy. But my mental focus has been uplifted and I feel more of the go-getter attitude that I had before.
Nothing in life is static. Obstacles and challenges are forever presented. It is SO important to stay focused.
